Valve Clearance Inspection NOTICE If valve clearance is left unadjusted, the wear will eventually cause the valves to remain partly open, which lowers performance, burns the valves and the valve seats, and may cause serious engine damage.
Warm up the engine thoroughly so that the oil will pick up any sediment and drain easily. Then stop the engine. Place an oil pan beneath the engine. Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick [A]. Remove the engine oil drain bolt [A] from the bottom of the engine, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain bolt assy with a new one. Install the new drain bolt. Tighten: Torque - Engine Oil Drain Bolt: 25 N*m (2.5 kgf*m, 18 ft*lb) Pour in the specified type and amount of oil.
